Lunch for Grandma’s Birthday

We had a lovely day yesterday up at the Centennial Winery in Bowral, celebrating my Grandmother’s birthday. It was a lovely afternoon with nine of us from the family there. The food was good, the wine was good, and the company and fun together was even better.

Traditionalism vs Moving with the times

I am not one of those who think that the people are never in the wrong. They have been so, frequently and outrageously, both in other countries and in this. But I do say, that in all disputes between them and their rulers, the presumption is at least upon a par in favour of the people.

Russian family reunion 2004

On the ANZAC Day public holiday (Monday 26 April), about a dozen people from the Russian side of our family gathered at ‘Aunt’ Nina’s house in Figtree (near Wollongong). As usual, we had a great time all catching up over a long late lunch.

And naturally, Tegan having just come back from Hong Kong with new toys, had another chance to try out her new camera, so here are some photos: Link

It was a very good year…

Gee 1994 was a good year in music – so many of my favourite albums in this bunch as the SMH looks back:

I really find it a shame that there was so little from Jeff Buckley or Portishead, particualrly in the calibre of Dummy by Portishead or Grace by Jeff Buckley. So many good times and experiences in my life have had those albums as the soundtrack.
